Your role will be to participate in the day-to-day delivery of engineering services, from front-end studies to assisting with commissioning. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality professional services and maintaining good working relationships with clients and co-workers.

Design & Technical Excellence:
Design and create 1-line, schematic, wiring, and layout drawings with precision and attention to detail.
Design and draft high-voltage substations up to 500 kV using current industry standards.
Effectively use 2D and 3D AutoCAD to create, edit, and optimize electrical drawings
Prepare technical documents, calculation notes, and comprehensive specifications
Apply established working methods and contribute to their continuous improvement
Participate in multidisciplinary teams designing renewable power facilities (wind, solar, battery energy storage systems)
Leadership & Mentoring:
Coach and mentor junior and intermediate designers, fostering their technical growth and professional development
Supervise and guide junior and intermediate team members through complex design projects and problem-solving processes.
Share your expertise by leading design reviews and providing constructive feedback on technical work.
Support the development of junior team members' technical skills and career progression
Project Management & Client Engagement
Provide engineering services and consulting work as a lead designer or supporting team member, building client relationships.
Participate in project management activities including cost tracking, deadline management, and resource planning.
Lead coordination meetings both internally and with clients, demonstrating technical leadership.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions.
Participate in commissioning equipment at client sites, locally and internationally, ensuring successful project delivery.

Overview of certifications and job requirements:
Diploma in Electrical Technology (able to be registered or currently registered with OACETT)
Minimum 10 years of experience designing high-voltage substations (up to 500 kV) and protection and control systems in utility or consulting engineering environments.
Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD drafting software with demonstrated project examples.
Expert-level knowledge of electrical documentation, including schematic, wiring, and layout drawings
Hold a valid Ontario driver's license
