Position Overview
Daytech is seeking an experienced and hands-on
Senior Electrical Designer
to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who thrives in both design and practical application environments. The successful candidate will combine strong electrical design expertise with the ability to work closely with mechanical, fabrication, and installation teams to bring innovative products from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and produce detailed electrical designs and drawings using Autodesk Inventor 3D and related software.
Interpret electrical specifications and translate customer requirements into functional and compliant designs.
Ensure all designs align with CEC, NEC, and local electrical codes.
Integrate power systems--including both grid-tied and solar--into Daytech's product line and infrastructure projects.
Collaborate closely with the mechanical engineering team to harmonize designs and ensure seamless integration between disciplines.
Support construction and installation activities by providing hands-on assistance, troubleshooting, and technical direction.
Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure design intent is properly executed on the production floor.
Prepare and manage documentation for CSA, UL, and ESA approvals, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
Qualifications
College diploma/Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology (or related field).
3-5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of CEC/NEC and applicable electrical codes.
Proficiency with Inventor 3D or similar design software.
Demonstrated understanding of power systems, including both grid and solar applications.
Experience working collaboratively with mechanical engineers and fabrication teams.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
