We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team.The Opportunity:The National Post comment team is looking for a Senior Editor to develop and execute a range of subscription and registration projects built around the best opinion section in the country. These will include live events, reader comments initiatives, newsletters and interviews with the most interesting conservative and classical liberal thinkers in the world.The successful candidate must be familiar with, and embrace, NP Comment\xe2\x80\x99s unique mix of conservative contrarianism and journalistic excellence. With a focus on subscription growth, the Senior Editor will collaborate with other editors, staff columnists and freelancers to help build the NP Comment brand to its highest potential. The Senior Editor will also be expected to contribute bylined columns and unsigned editorials.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

• Plan and coordinate regular live events, both in person and virtual, which encourage audience participation
• Host regular reader comments initiatives, such as live chats, and \xe2\x80\x9cask me anything\xe2\x80\x9d style discussions
• Produce regular video series
• Develop and produce a newsletter focused on international trends in conservatism
• Edit columns
• Work with writers for longer and more complex writing projects
• Write bylined columns
• Write unsigned editorials

Who you are:

• You have a minimum of three years of newsroom or similar experience
• You are fluent in digital platforms, multimedia journalism and social media
• You are able to work quickly and independently, meet multiple deadlines, and make efficient decisions
• You are familiar and comfortable with the National Post comment brand and voice
• You are familiar with international trends in journalism
• You are up to date on the conservative movement in Canada, the U.S., Europe and elsewhere
• You are able to work constructively as part of a newsroom team
• Experience in project management is a definite asset
