We currently have an opening for Senior Ecologist in our Edmonton office. You are a dynamic individual looking to build upon your current success in environmental consulting. With ambition and a flare for project management and work winning, you are ready for a lead role within our Applied Ecology Group.
Your experience includes wetland assessment, restoration ecology, erosion and sediment control plans, or soil bioengineering. Knowledge of soils, vegetation, wildlife and fisheries is an asset. You have experience managing projects and can apply Alberta\'s regulatory processes to projects within your discipline. You have a commitment to technical excellence, a critical mind for problem solving and ability to communicate to project teams and clients.

Responsibilities will include the following:
Leading and implementing restoration projects.
Leading and implementing wetland assessments.
Providing construction supervision and contract administration for contractors implementing restoration projects.
Contributing to or leading the preparation of high quality scientific and technical reports, including permits and regulatory documents.
Preparing erosion and sediment control plans.
Managing projects and inter-disciplinary project teams.
Assisting and /or leading the preparation of proposals and contributing to other business development activities.
Preparing and delivering presentations on project outcomes to clients and regulators.
Developing and maintaining client relationships.
Supporting the development of and mentoring staff.
What you will bring:
Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant pure or applied science (graduate degree preferred).
Preference will be given to individuals registered with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists or Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (P. Ag, P. Biol.) or eligibility for registration within three years.
Experience completing wetland assessments.
Project experience in restoration design and implementation and sediment and erosion control.
Strong time management and organizational ability.
Strong decision-making ability and an understanding of best business practices.
12+ years post-graduation experience in environmental consulting.
Leadership skills and a drive to succeed.
A strong understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation, regulation and permitting processes.
