Job Description


Working in the dynamic environment of the Four Seasons global Marketing department, the Senior Director, Marketing \xe2\x80\x93 Americas will be an integral member of the world-class Commercial team that drives consumer marketing for one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading luxury hospitality brands. This role will be responsible for driving the regional marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and acquisition of new guests, leading the strategic and campaign planning process for their region to ensure they are delivering a consistent and optimized marketing message, aligned to the global framework. They will focus on driving stronger messaging integration by leveraging creative and paid media to deliver effective campaigns and messages to the right audiences, driving value and fueling growth for Four Seasons in the region. They will lead a small and nimble team to oversee all marketing campaigns, ensuring seasonal objectives and KPIs are met to maximize brand impact and business performance.

The successful candidate will act as a key-council to property marketing teams, coaching and inspiring individuals and project teams to achieve performance improvements and personal growth, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the region. Critical to their role will be continuously evaluating and refining marketing strategies to maximize ROI on key business initiatives and ensure long-term success. Additionally, the role will be key in driving the successful opening of new properties, including sales and marketing plans, critical path planning and marketing communication.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing:

Strategic Marketing Campaign, Business planning & Execution.

Keeping an eye on top-line business forecasts for properties across market segments, the candidate must guide the development of timely gap-closing plans in tandem with VP Commercial and global teams, this includes:

  • Monitor relevant Marketing Scorecard metrics and coach/facilitate development in areas of improvement.
  • Drive insight-driven regional marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and acquisition of new guests in USA, delivering a consistent and optimized marketing message aligned to the global framework.
  • Gain alignment with Global and Area teams for annual marketing plan and budgets, ensuring seasonal objectives and KPIs are met to maximize brand impact and business performance.
  • Work with Global insight and research team to ensure Four Seasons builds knowledge base of USA guest insights to fuel growth of this key market.
  • Manage regional brand activations and content projects throughout calendar year, including creative review process, contract details, media plans, creative briefings, creative reviews and final approvals, integrating with broader global marketing team.
  • Stay current on emerging consumer behaviour, marketing and technology trends; seek opportunities to beta test with individual or smaller groups of hotels. If successful, roll out to regional and/or global.
  • Develop a clear \xe2\x80\x9cgo to market\xe2\x80\x9d strategy for new brand partnership activations in partnership with the VP, Commercial.
Regional Hotel Marketing Performance Leadership
  • Serve as leadership council to local hotel marketing teams, coaching individuals and project teams to achieve performance improvements and personal growth at the local level, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Review and provide counsel towards local hotel marketing campaigns and creative productions, ensuring best in class global frameworks are successfully being applied locally.
  • Partner with VP, Commercial to drive business performance for the region.
  • Track and monitor hotel acquisition metrics, helping property teams to deliver on-target.
Creative Production & Content
  • Working with the Global Creative team, leverage global best practices and partners to produce content regionally that is line with brand best practices and content guidelines.
  • Ongoing management of creative and content partners in USA
  • Oversight of regional digital content platforms that drive brand health and fuel business growth.
  • Oversight of brand activations and events, in partnership with Americas creative lead.
Paid Media
  • Provide thought leadership and counsel for paid media best practices to support the region, in line with global paid media centre of excellence operating principles, partners and guidelines.
  • Review hotel paid media plans along with America\xe2\x80\x99s media lead to ensure paid media targets deliver against overall goals
What You Bring:
  • College or University degree, preferably in Marketing or Business Strategy. MBA an asset.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a corporate marketing/strategy role.
  • Demonstrated track record in brand strategy and consumer insight in sophisticated global marketing organization.
  • Experience with digital/social/CRM marketing and proven marketing capabilities in The Americas specifically.
  • Strong cross-cultural capability, with the ability to assess market nuance and consult across various global and regional stakeholders on projects.
  • Experience in strategic consulting, marketing agencies and luxury brands an asset.
  • Previous management experience in a consumer marketing, corporate/brand strategy or strategic consulting role.
  • An excellent project manager with strong business acumen who can lead and execute multi-channel projects with diverse stakeholders across departments.

  • Well-organized, able to set priorities and be detail-oriented.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, manage and train others.
  • Outstanding resource and budget management skills
  • Experience in a strategic consulting client service role or in a brand marketing function targeting USA consumers.
  • Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • Experience managing agencies.
  • Strong focus on being able to analyze data and use it to effectively grow the business.
Travel:

Frequent travel throughout USA, Canada required.
