We currently have an opening in the Supply Chain Management Department for a Senior Director, Canadian Supply Chain. This position will report to the SVP & Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Supply Chain Officer, North America.
This role will lead the development and implementation of supply chain initiatives across the McDonald's System. This role will participate in, and possibly lead, broad internal and external cross-functional teams at McDonald's that represent diverse areas of the Canadian business to ensure programs are executed in a timely manner, within budget, and with measurable success.

**This position is a Flex Hybrid Model, requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.**

Principal Accountabilities:
Strategic Planning:

  • Responsible for strategic planning & goal setting for Canadian Supply Chain Team
  • Identifies and prioritizes key Supply Chain initiatives and competencies that need to be developed and implemented for McDonald's Canada
  • Provides Supply Chain subject-matter-expertise to the Canadian system from a strategic perspective as well as day-to-day supply chain operations management leveraging the broader supplier network
  • Strategic influence of Sr. level stakeholders including market leadership, GSC leadership and supplier network
  • Contributes to setting short-term supply chain management strategy and executes long-term strategy for function
  • Makes decisions and is accountable for the performance and results of the SCM function
Internal and External Engagement
  • Manage communications having long-term operational, tactical or strategic implications for supply chain management.
  • Engage, partner, and develop relationships with McDonald's corporate leadership, McDonald's suppliers, Owner Operators, regional leadership (field and operations), and external stakeholders to socialize, build support, and expand sustainability programs.
  • Continuously work with corporate communications and marketing to identify, develop, and refine customer and employee messaging and engagement opportunities.
  • Effectively represent McDonald's by presenting or adding strategic thought at external conferences, partnership collaborations or other events on request.
Program Management and Metrics
  • Proactively identify and solve multi-dimensional problems impacting the management and direction of supply chain; develop new and unprecedented methods to address future customer needs
  • Holds primary financial accountability for and allocation of a significant portion of supply chain resources across multiple levels of leaders with impact on entire company
  • Coordinate, develop and track metrics and processes to support focus areas.
  • Support internal cross-functional teams by tracking progress and identifying implementation needs of the teams

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills
  • Proven organizational and program management skills and track record of successful project results.
  • A deep understanding of the issues of business as well as subject matter expertise in Strategic Sourcing and broad category knowledge across multiple functions supported
  • Role requires seasoned experience in managing strategic teams of senior-level professionals, dealing with ambiguity and business complexity to set functional strategy, execute, and influence with credibility
  • In-depth management knowledge across several functions
  • Experience in working with organizations advocating differing polices and conflict resolution.
  • Outstanding and concise written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Outstanding relationship building and presentation skills to internal, external, and senior management audiences.
Minimum Requirements
  • Professional with 8 + years of progressive experience in program management, sustainability, or strategic planning.
  • Supply Chain/ Sourcing degree desired however general Business Management degree acceptable
  • Master's in business is an asset.
Other Key Qualifications
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross functional teams of peer and higher-level people, internal and external.
  • Ability to distill substantial and complex data into key concise insights and relevant takeaways.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Previous experience in the McDonald's business, including a previous job working in McDonald's restaurants or with one of McDonald's suppliers is preferred but not required.
