What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing

The Advanced Analytics & AI team is a hub of data science expertise within CIBC, and is leading the way in applying the best practices in predictive science, machine learning, leveraging massive datasets and the latest in big data technology platforms. As a Senior Data Scientist in Advanced Analytics, you will work with business and technology partners to deliver solutions that meet their analytical needs and help serve our clients.

You will work with real world structured and unstructured datasets to produce end-to-end solutions, taking models from experiment to deployment. We collaborate with industry partners in the space of AI and machine learning, and engage with leading academic researchers to promote the exchange of ideas and enrich our talent.

How You\xe2\x80\x99ll Succeed

Data Science Expertise: You will utilize your knowledge in statistics, machine learning and/or optimization to frame business problems in a data science context. You will build data products by writing code that is modular, reliable, maintainable & replicable.

Consulting Mindset: You will communicate complex concepts in simple and elegant ways. You will work closely with our business partners to understand their challenges by asking the right questions to gather information. You will put in the effort to understand the business problem and to answer any questions and concerns brought up by our partners.

Team Player: You will collaborate with data experts to learn about the data and engineer relevant features. You will effectively collaborate with other data scientists and engineers to learn about the data, engineer features and work together to build data products.

Who You Are

You have an advanced degree in a scientific or quantitative field

You have minimum of 3 year experience in industry or research

You enjoy the challenge of leading engagements and coaching junior team members

You have extensive knowledge of programming in Python and alos demonstrate experience with Data science libraries (Pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, etc.); Writing queries in SQL and working with data warehouses; ML/AI Frameworks (Tensorflow, Pytorch); Knowledge of NLP and associated toolkits (nltk, spaCy); Software development and testing

Also beneficial: Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tablea; Understanding of Docker and Kubernete: Exposure to big data frameworks (PySpark, SparkML): Exposure Microsoft Azure cloud platform
