About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Data and Analytics, this position will play a key role in the organization of and access to strategic information assets required to provide accurate and timely information for the Department. The Senior Data Analyst will engage in data discussions with business units to create data-driven solutions in support of strategic and operational activities.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Will help develop strategies and processes that support a strong data management framework that aligns with privacy and security best practices.
  • Assist in educating and promoting best practices for data across the organization.
  • Look for ways to drive continuous improvement of data initiatives to expand reporting capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience

You will have a Bachelors\xe2\x80\x99 degree with 6 years of analytics related experience; an acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

As the successful candidate you are a critical thinker with a passion for data. You have the curiosity to find ways to improve processes and to question and understand the data to create valuable insights. You are a problem solver who can work independently, as a member of a team, and who values a diverse and inclusive workplace. The ability to prioritize competing requests while producing high quality results is vital.

In addition, you also possess the following:
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex analytics projects with a strategic alignment to department and government priorities must be clearly outlined in your cover letter and resume;
  • Ability to work with internal clients and external partners, with tact, diplomacy and utilizing good negotiation, consultation, and facilitation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Significant experience using analytics tools (e.g., IBM Cognos, Power BI, Python);
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience building and optimizing data analytics life cycle processes; and
  • Demonstrated proficiency using SQL and experience working in data warehouse environments.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Equivalency

An acceptable combination of training and education may include:
  • A completed related master\xe2\x80\x99s degree and four (4) years of experience
  • A completed related diploma and eight (8) years of experience
  • Ten (10) years of related experience without post-secondary education

Pay Grade: PR 17

Salary Range: $3,143.79 - $3,929.78 Bi-Weekly
