BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an immediate opening for a Senior Controls & Instrumentation Technician. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Windsor, NS.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing and maintaining calibration program in a qualified state.
  • Lead the calibration maintenance program ensuring minimal plant downtime.
  • Lead calibration and instrument non conformances, risk assessments and RCA\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Aide in planning and scheduling of calibration and instrument activities.
  • Continuous Improvement of PM and PDM programs and RCM.
  • Assist Automation Specialist with instrumentation & controls issues & projects.
  • Installing and maintaining instrumentation/electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshooting process control system.
  • Assisting in programing PLC to correct system issues.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and correcting operational/maintenance issues.
  • Maintaining IO, motor lists and any other documentation as required for efficient system operation.
  • Assisting in pricing equipment and consumables for capital equipment.
  • Assigning and scheduling maintenance operations including tracking work orders, maintaining spare parts inventory, and maintaining calibration and maintenance history of plant equipment. using Blue Mountain software. Including review and verification of good documentation practices on work orders.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s request.
The successful candidate would have the following:
  • Trade certification as a red seal instrumentation technician, or an engineering degree in instrumentation
  • Five years experience in an industrial environment as a controls and instrumentation technician
  • Strong PLC programming skills
  • Experience in a GMP or pharmaceutical industry would be an asset
