What does the position entail?
  • Leads the contracts, subcontracts, and procurement evaluation process, including preparation, review, negotiation and execution. Utilizes corporate contractual templates, acceptable contracting parameters, and established authorization parameters to aid.
  • Perform subcontractor evaluation against internal criteria, including due dilligence activities.
  • Facilitate internal stakeholder briefing of contractual agreements, related to post-award transition from Business Development to Project team.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Business Development and Projects departments, ensuring their efforts support the department\xe2\x80\x99s effective commercial administration of contracts undertaken.
  • Prepare and deliver reports for internal stakeholders that demonstrate achievement of contract commercial performance KPIs and cost savings initiatives.
  • Ensure internal contract databases for contract management and procurement are maintained.
  • Realize compliance with processes and procedures specific to the department and/or job function, advising internal stakeholders of their obligations and activities towards the processes.
  • Oversee the administration and contractual compliance of the company\xe2\x80\x99s ITB obligations in Canada.
  • Collaborates with other Contract Specialists within the department to ensure effectiveness of the Contract Management function.
What you will need to be successful?
  • Education- Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in the fields of business administration, law, paralegal, or related field.
  • Experience- 10+ years of contract specialist, contract management, or procurement experience.
  • Possesses and demonstrates knowledge of contracting legal framework within Canada and United States, for both commercial and government procurement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and prioritize appropriately.
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms and the clients best interests.
  • Ability to manage business confidential documents and correspondence.

Working conditions for this role?
  • Willingness to work moderately flexible hours and occasionally work outside normal working hours, as required.
  • Willingness to travel and work from different locations, as required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of job location.
