This includes providing risk analysis and recommendations, investigative support and conflict resolution of workplace and labour issues, HR policies & programs, human rights and employment legislative requirements.At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you\xe2\x80\x99ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How you\xe2\x80\x99ll succeedAdvice & consultation \xe2\x80\x93 Act as a point person for labour and employee relations matters. Manage complex, high risk and sensitive workplace and labour relation issues, including grievances, human rights and harassment or other egregious workplace conduct, terminations, disability leave matters and corporate security investigations. Ensure corporate governance is consistently applied, ensuring decisions made by the business comply with the applicable collective agreement, relevant CIBC policies and external government programs, regulations and legislation.Conflict management support \xe2\x80\x93 Support managers and employees in successful resolution of grievances, workplace issues and conflicts. Collaborate with stakeholders, HR teams and union officials, as applicable, to address disability management files, reintegration and accommodation options in the workplace. Investigate and respond to union inquiries, grievance files and other escalated labour and employee relations matters.Grievance and litigation management - Lead the grievance process on behalf of CIBC to maximize opportunity for effective & timely resolution and risk mitigation, consulting with internal counsel as required. Investigate, support and prepare required documentation for files referred to arbitration and/or litigation under the direction of counsel, including attending hearings.Collective bargaining and project support \xe2\x80\x93 Lead the internal collective bargaining process, acting on behalf of CIBC at the bargaining table and liaising with relevant partners and the Chief Negotiator on research, strategy and approvals. Assist the business and HR to identify creative pro-active approaches to enterprise projects and/or initiatives that are business relevant and take into account the collective agreement, labour risks, change management, notice and communications.Who you areYou understand that success is in the details.
