Your Opportunity:Description:The Senior Clinical Practice Coordinator (SCPC) provides direction to IPC staff in the consistent application of IPC principles offering a thorough depth of expertise in IPC practice across the continuum of care. Leads and participates in development of program initiatives to align provincial IPC direction towards a standardized program/service delivery model. The SCPC manages and coordinates IPC services including Hand Hygiene Education and Compliance Monitoring, IPC Accreditation, and IPC Resource, and Website monitoring. Integrates provincial IPC standards and initiatives consistently in the zone whilst recognizing the unique challenges in each setting or large geographical area or complexity of services provided. Promotes patient safety and prevention of adverse events related to infections and non-compliance with standards thereby reducing patients\' length of stay, decreasing health care costs and risk to the organization. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key partners across AHS, including front-line staff, operational leaders, Medical Officers of Health, clinical staff, and physicians. Works provincially with other SCPCs, IPC Directors and Executive Directors, IPC staff, and physicians to lead best practice initiatives and identify and resolve clinical issues. Develops, coordinates, and delivers education to a broad range of clinical and support departments and monitors outcome and process compliance with IPC standards. This incumbent performs day-to-day situational management (involving partners outside of IPC as required). Provides leadership, orientation, coaching, and mentoring for new and existing IPC staff. Along with the Director, the SCPC hires new IPC staff and supports performance management and professional development. Please Note: This position is a weekday position, typically 08:00 - 16:15 with on-call duties monthly.

Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate or advanced degree in health-related field. Certification in Infection Control CIC\xc2\xa9 from the Certification Board of Infection Control preferred (or actively pursuing with intent to obtain certification within the fiscal year). Active licensure with a regulatory body (CARNA, ACMLT) required, as applicable. Five+ years\' experience in Infection Prevention and Control. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Programs. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team and partners. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Leadership experience; either formal or informal, an asset to the role.
Additional Required Qualifications:The incumbent will demonstrate extensive knowledge of a broad range of clinical operations as well as the communication and adult education skills to support improvement by AHS partners to meet and exceed IPC standards. Demonstrated ability to lead (manage, coordinate) a diverse group of ICPs and promote collaboration, commitment, and trust within a strong team environment including collaborative work with physicians. Have a demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development including progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment. Leadership skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities. Fostering partnerships to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized sector are essential together with capacity to foster collaboration amongst stakeholders and build solid relationships with key stakeholders within and external to AHS.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated expertise and experience in acute care or long-term care Infection Prevention and Control, quality improvement and/or risk management, preferably within the Canadian public health care sector. Membership with IPAC-Canada. Leadership skills.
