Senior Construction Advisor (part-time, permanent)

to join support our Major Projects portfolio. This is a remote position that will require occasional travel and work at various sites/locations across Canada and/or the USA.


The

Senior Construction Advisor

will develop and provide a professional level of field operations expertise, both practical and technical, inclusive of critical thinking related to construction planning, execution, cost estimation, quality, safety and environmental leadership.

Key Responsibilities:



Lives Forbes Bro. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day Provide high-level technical support and guidance to project team members to effectively execute on construction execution Assist in leading and supporting the project team in completing construction planning activities and developing execution plans Support estimating with constructability inputs and basis of estimate development Demonstrate sound understanding of the powerline construction industry as a whole and able to develop and communicate mitigation strategies related to industry related construction execution risks Guide Project and Construction Managers, Supervisors, and General Foremen towards the successful completion of projects using construction management principles Support Construction Managers in coordinating the work of all consultants and sub-contractors, ensuring the timely delivery of expected output, and ensuring an effective synergy among the various sub-contracted activities Ensure efficient coordination of technical resources and coordination with other internal and/or external stakeholders Advise the Project and Construction Managers and others about project risks and issues that may impact client relations Support Engineering-Procure-Construct delivery with constructability input throughout the engineering and procurement stages Support the development of Field Review Reports, Change Notices, RFI's, site instructions, and clarification as needed Support in monitoring projects for general compliance with technical specifications Provide guidance to ensure project Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Standards are being met Support technical training for craft labor on project-specific work procedures and standards Support in-field inspections for completed construction scopes of work Input into equipment planning and utilization for efficient construction methods Coaching and mentoring of new construction management staff. Additional support for other Operations teams as required

What We Are Looking For:



Minimum of ten (10) + years' related work experience in Powerline, Civil or Industrial construction,

is required. A combination of education and years of experience pertaining to Construction Management will be considered*
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, coordinating resources as well as the ability to analyze data and solve problems A friendly professional demeanor and ability to excel in a team-oriented environment Strong ability to coach and mentor Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision Able and willing to work in a dynamic environment Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract
