THE ROLE




Reporting to the Compensation Director, the person will be responsible for supporting in global compensation initiatives tasks while respecting culture and business overall objectives. This role is also responsible for participating in market surveys, salary benchmarking exercises, preparing salary recommendations, and supporting in the pay equity audit (Quebec and Ontario). In carrying out these responsibilities, the candidate for the position must be familiar with best practices in field of compensation and have knowledge of the Quebec/Ontario Pay equity act.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Conduct and analyze market surveys, build relationship with vendors, and present recommendations and insights (Mercer, ERI, Korn Ferry) Research and analyze competitive compensation practices in the job market. Lead and ensure compliance with Ontario and Quebec Pay equity and contribute to compensation governance. Analyze positions to ascertain the scope of employee responsibilities and qualifications. Prepare salary recommendations upon requests from HR Business Partners Create, update and maintain job catalogue Run and maintain ad hoc compensation reports for HR requests. Prepare and support in costing analysis for minimum wage and scale updates. Assist in ad hoc department/job category internal equity assessment requests. Responsible for periodic internal auditing of compensation data in Workday (retention bonus, salary plans, hourly plans, OTP, office premiums etc. Work with HRIS teams on system bugs and key contact for compensation adjustments in system. Partake in compensation data seminars (Mercer, CHRA etc.) Assist in the global merit and bonus annual processes (testing eligibility rules, plan setups and updates to training documents). Support/Assist in ad hoc global emerging projects. Support day to day administration of the employee compensation programs (minimum wage updates, allowance plan and one time payment updates etc.)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Education:



Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Commerce, finance, economics, or other quantitative discipline.

Experience:



3 + years of relevant experience

Knowledge and skills:



Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint Knowledge of IPE Mercer Methodology (extra asset) Understanding of salary administration, pay equity compliance laws, provincial pay regulations etc. Ability to work both independently and with a global/cross-functional team to execute deliverables. Self-starter with the ability to work under changing conditions and tight deadlines. Good verbal and written communication skills Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Experience with HRIS Workday functionality knowledge (preferred)




Language skills:



Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
