The expected hiring salary range for this position is CAD $109,000 - $133,000 per annum. The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and will consider internal equity. Position Summary





Methanex is seeking a

Senior Communications Specialist

to lead and elevate our global content and channel strategy. Reporting to the Director, Global Communications, you'll be one of the driving forces behind our internal and external storytelling--crafting content, managing key communications platforms, and collaborating with teams across six continents. Position Responsibilities




Content Management

(60%)




Partner with the Director, Communications to execute a global content and channel strategy across Methanex's internal and external platforms (intranet, website, social media). Serve as lead writer and editor for corporate communications content. Collaborate with subject matter experts and regional teams to develop impactful messaging. Lead content performance measurement and analytics. Support the creation of internal video content to capture timely opportunities. Oversee governance and reporting for digital channels, including audits and analytics. Provide strategic communications counsel to internal stakeholders globally.

Social Media Management

(15%)




Manage Methanex's global social media presence and advise on regional channels. Collaborate with external agencies to develop engaging global content. Use analytics tools to monitor sentiment, measure impact, and share insights across regions.

Management of intranet/internal social media presence (15%)




Lead strategy and oversight for Methanex's corporate intranet and Global Viva Engage platform. Guide global and regional teams on effective use of Viva Engage. Cultivates internal social media communities.

Contribution to overall management and administration of Global Communications (10%)




Contribute to corporate and departmental strategy execution. Support annual budgeting for the Global Communications team. Maintain documentation and processes in line with company policies and legislation. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Position Qualifications




Education and/or Professional Designation




University degree in communications, marketing, business and/or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Experience and Technical Skills/Knowledge




Seven to 10+ years of experience, primarily in a corporate (non-agency) environment. Exceptional verbal and written skills; demonstrated extensive writing experience for different audiences. Experience with overseeing/participating in video production would be an asset. Demonstrated technical capabilities across different platforms, including Adobe, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other areas. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
