The Corporate Communications Department is hiring a Senior Communications Advisor - an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, high-impact team.

What You Will Do

Are you a strategic communicator who loves to write, collaborate, and lead impactful projects? In this role, you'll drive internal communications and change management strategies, supporting initiatives that reach our 18,000-strong workforce.



You will be responsible for the management of communications projects; overall administration and editorial direction of corporate publications and communications; and provision of internal communications plans and communications products that enhance corporate image and relations with internal audiences.



As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will:

Support large information technology transformation projects

Provide communication advice and counsel to internal clients, senior management and executives

Develop and deliver internal communications plans, executive messaging and change initiatives

Lead communication planning for operational programs, capital projects and strategic initiatives.

Write and develop communication materials, including detailed explainers and multimedia communications

Integrate communications into project and change management plans.

Maintain a strong understanding of the TTC's internal channels and work closely with the CEO's office, Labour Relations and other departments

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

A post-secondary degree/diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public/Media Relations, or the equivalent, combined with seven to ten years of directly related work experience which will contribute to your success in this role. Strong knowledge of communications, organizational change management, principles and techniques is required. Excellent knowledge of the corporate communications field including various forms of internal and external communications such as printed materials, social media, video, film, TV and radio. Excellent research, writing, editing and presentation skills. Your application will demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish effective internal/external working relationships. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong planning and organizational skills to co-ordinate multiple projects from concept to execution and meet time sensitive deadlines is required. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office combined with applied knowledge of desktop design, publication/production/presentation software and new technologies, digital and print. Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting stringent deadlines. Must possess ability to manage competing priorities and demands in a rapidly changing environment.
