Your Role in Supporting Our Members:





The Commercial Banking Senior Analyst underwrites complex credit applications for small and medium businesses, as well as real estate construction and investment properties. Supporting the sales team, you'll conduct due diligence on borrowers and prepare credit applications for new loans, annual reviews, and amendments, all within commercial lending policies. You'll deliver expert underwriting advice to meet member needs, achieve business goals, and support transactions with social, environmental, and community impact.



This full-time, permanent position is based at Vancity's head office, reporting to the Manager, Commercial Banking Analysts. The role is hybrid, requiring at least one in-office day per week.


How You'll Make an Impact




Performing timely and accurate analysis of information from commercial borrowers to determine risk involved in lending money to new and existing businesses Providing advice and collaborating with Commercial Account Managers to underwrite high-quality new business credit applications Performing annual reviews of existing business credit facilities to evaluate performance Working effectively with Risk Managers to achieve timely delivery of credit approvals Accompanying Commercial Account Managers on member meetings to participate in discussions on financial/structural aspects of new business loan requests Providing technical advice and expertise to Associate Analysts and Analysts to foster their professional development

What You'll Bring to the Team




Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or similar professional experience Minimum of three years commercial lending experience Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and a demonstrated strength in the analysis and interpretation of financial data, commercial property appraisals and credit information Extensive experience in structuring and presenting commercial credit proposals, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies Strong business writing skills Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with a strong attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients, colleagues, and senior leadership

What You'll Earn:





This role offers a salary range of $71,500 to $107,300 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
