About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Infrastructure, the Senior Director has overall accountability for the renovation projects within QEII Redevelopment Project. The Senior Director in partnership with the Senior Medical Director for the QEII Redevelopment Project, VP Sponsors and government partners (e.g. Departments of Public Work) provides leadership and direction for all aspects of planning, procurement and implementation of the \xe2\x80\x9cearly start\xe2\x80\x9d aspects of the overall QEII Redevelopment Project . The Senior Director is also responsible to oversee the development of an integrated Clinical Service Plan across QEII. The Senior Director leads the equipment planning, operational readiness, and other activities essential to project success. The Senior Director works in partnership with NSHA Executive, Executive Directors, Central Zone, Zone Medical Advisory Committee, Government members of the project team, clinical and support service teams and other key stakeholders as required.

The Senior Director provides leadership and direction, in collaboration with the assigned project team, in assessing and responding to the impact of a new design, new technologies and equipment and identifying opportunities to improve practices and processes within an academic health sciences center. In addition, the Senior Director is responsible for assessing and mitigating project risks and developing an operational readiness plan that will facilitate the delivery of safe quality care in new and renovated facilities.

The Senior Director, works in close collaboration with Senior Director co-leads to plan, integrate and implement all aspects of the larger QEII Redevelopment Project. The Senior Director is also the liaison to QEII operations, the QEII Foundation and with educational partners in support of the QEII\'s academic mandate.

About You

  • Master\'s degree in a related health discipline, business administration or health administration, with significant experience in health care management/leadership (preferably in a tertiary/quaternary academic health sciences centre)
  • Formal project management certification (asset)
  • CHE Certification (asset)
  • Seven (7) years to ten (10) years\' related senior leadership with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management.
  • Experience with the planning and delivery of large-scale hospital redevelopment.
  • Excellent leadership, relationship building, organizational and decision making skills.
  • Expert knowledge to critically analysis evidence based practices to inform strategy development
  • Expertise in leading complex change
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
  • Collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide progressive and innovative approaches to service delivery and program issues
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of stakeholders supported by an acute awareness of the impact of action
  • Demonstrated project management, process re-engineering and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer (PC) and applicable software applications.

Hours
  • Long assignment, full time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Assignment is five to seven years in duration with an anticipated start date of January 2023
Compensation and Incentives

$65.63 - $82.02 Hourly
