Scope:




The Senior BI Developer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced Business Intelligence and analytics solutions that support strategic decision-making across Sonepar Canada. Operating in both on-premises and cloud environments, this position ensures the integrity, performance, and scalability of BI systems. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve complex data challenges, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive continuous improvement in data-driven operations.

Major Responsibilities:



Maintain, develop, and support Business Intelligence solutions in an On-prem and Cloud environment Provide production support for client applications. Activities include program analysis, testing and system enhancements. Some support may be outside of normal business hours. Resolve complex problems in collaboration with other internal customers or IT teams. Perform other data-related activities, including internal team training.

You will thrive in this role if you have the following skills and qualities:



Bachelor Degree or Collegial Degree in Information Systems. Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be fluent in speaking and writing in French and English Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft BI tools, including SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Server, Reporting Services, Integration Services, DAX, Excel, Power BI and BI Azure environment Good knowledge of Data Lake, Lakehouse Good knowledge in relational database and SQL Query writing Experience with Microsoft Azure BI Tools like Databricks, Fabric, Synapse and Azure Data Factory Knowledge of Cognos (considered an asset) Business knowledge in Wholesale and Distribution spheres (considered an asset)
