About The Role

You will have an exciting opportunity to join our Application Development and Production Support (ADPS) team, which serves as a comprehensive provider of application development and production support services to our partner departments and agencies across diverse business domains. As a member of the team, your primary responsibility will involve business process analysis, requirements gathering, and refinement. You will be assigned to one or more projects and collaborate closely with other team members and/or vendors to design, develop, procure, deploy, and maintain new applications/systems hosted in public/private cloud environments. This role offers a supportive team environment with excellent peer support.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business partners, and end-users to elicit and document their business needs and requirements. This involves conducting interviews, workshops, and analyzing existing documentation.
  • Analyze and document \xe2\x80\x9cas-is\xe2\x80\x9d business processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose \xe2\x80\x9cto-be\xe2\x80\x9d process designs. This may involve creating process flow diagrams, use cases, and business process models.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and concise documentation, such as functional specifications, user stories, and system requirements. This ensures a common understanding among stakeholders and serves as a basis for development and testing.
  • Analyze and evaluate requirements to ensure they are complete, feasible, and aligned with business objectives. Validate requirements by verifying them with stakeholders and conducting feasibility studies, impact assessments, and risk analysis.
  • Contribute to data models design and write SQL scripts based on our internal database design guidelines and standards, migrate/convert data and provide data extracts as required.
  • Collaborate with technical resources to design and evaluate potential solutions that address business needs. This includes reviewing system designs, proposing functional solutions, and evaluating third-party software or vendor options.
  • Assist in managing change requests associated with implementing new systems or process improvements. This may involve conducting change impact assessments, developing training materials, and supporting end-user adoption.
  • Collaborate with testing resources to develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on defined requirements. Participate in test execution, defect management, and ensuring the quality of the delivered solution.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and automation. Analyze data, metrics, and user feedback to identify areas of optimization and provide recommendations.
  • Provide support to project managers in various project activities, such as project planning, scheduling, and tracking. Assist in project coordination, ARB Request, status reporting, and security/risk management.
Required Skills
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess complex business problems, break them down into manageable components, and propose effective solutions, including critical thinking and the ability to analyze data and information.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, understand their requirements, and convey information clearly. This includes active listening, presentation skills, and the ability to write concise and accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency in gathering, documenting, and managing requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This involves techniques such as conducting interviews, facilitating workshops, and employing appropriate tools.
  • Skilled in business process modeling techniques, such as creating process flow diagrams, use cases, and activity diagrams. This helps in visualizing and documenting current and future business processes.
  • Ability to quickly understand the specific industry/business domain to better comprehend business terminology, industry-specific challenges, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective collaboration with stakeholders from various backgrounds, including business users, subject matter experts, developers, and testers. Strong facilitation skills for conducting meetings/workshops.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes, analyze alternatives, and make informed decisions. This involves considering different perspectives, evaluating risks, and selecting the most suitable solutions.
  • Basic understanding of technical concepts and systems to effectively communicate with technical resources and assess technical feasibility.
  • Proficiency in documenting requirements, specifications, and other project-related information. This includes writing clear and concise documentation, creating visual diagrams, and preparing reports.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in dynamic environments where requirements may change, priorities may shift, or new challenges may arise.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, understand their needs, and manage expectations.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and testing processes to support testing efforts, review test cases, and ensure that the delivered solution meets the specified requirements.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Diploma in IT or Industrial Engineering, and 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have direct experience in business analysis.
