About the Opportunity
Our small but mighty Building Performance team in Toronto, is looking to hire a Senior Building Performance Consultant. The Senior Building Performance Consultant will have a holistic and diverse understanding of performance engineering with a focus on commissioning, multi-discipline performance related design, testing and facility operational issues. As a key member of the Performance Engineering team, the Senior Building Performance Consultant will be a source for mentorship and technical support to share their expertise and depth of practical knowledge with internal staff on a variety of projects. They will be responsible for completing the assigned projects on schedule, within budget, with minimal guidance from the Team Leader. The Senior Building Performance Consultant will be responsible for leading, coaching, organizing and effectively utilizing the production level staff to complete assigned projects. In addition to the core technical role, the Individual will be responsible for supporting the expansion of the team through business development activities, on as-required basis. Responsibilities:

  • Receive and execute instructions from the Team Leader and be responsible for completing the assigned projects with required level of quality, on schedule and on budget, independently with minimal guidance
  • Lead, supervise, organize and effectively utilize the production level staff to complete the assigned projects
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to staff, actively participating in the company mentorship program
  • Coordination and management of commissioning and other technical staff
  • Development of technical documentation and implementation of performance engineering processes and methodologies
  • Significant client, and project team interaction to manage problem resolution and mechanical, electrical and automation related technical services
  • Develop detailed and concise reports and support documentation for these tasks in both digital and hard copy formats
  • Support the Performance Engineering team in development of client relationships, in overall business development and team growth
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years’ experience in the Commissioning and/or Performance Engineering fields
  • Advanced understanding and experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical building systems
  • Advanced understanding and experience troubleshooting building automation/controls systems
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
  • Pursuing registration for BCXP or CCP Certification is advantageous
  • Detailed Operations, Maintenance and Sustainability Technologies experience an asset
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, etc.)
  • Superior project management skills – including experience in implementing project schedules (utilizing Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.)
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
