Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Building Operator to maintain and ensure the efficient operation of our buildings. The Building Operator will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining building systems, performing regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role is essential to providing a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for all occupants.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Communication


Uphold and enhance the quality of customer service experiences. Respond promptly and attentively to tenant requests.
Skills & Competencies


Exhibit strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Proficiency in drywall repair and preparation. Experience in interior commercial painting and drywall. Basic plumbing and electrical skills. Ability to install and repair appliances. Capable of performing tasks such as snow removal, parkade clean-up, heavy garbage removal, moving and lifting heavy appliances, and similar duties.
Building Maintenance & Operations


Perform routine maintenance tasks and improvements in common areas. Experience with HVAC and Building Automation Systems. General knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and closed-loop systems (hot water, glycol, cooling water). Familiarity with fire protection systems. Understanding of emergency generator operations.
Qualifications


Experienced in commercial office building operations and maintenance (5 years) with a 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate (or equivalent) Five years (preferred) experience in commercial/residential maintenance. Proven leadership and team building skills. Knowledge in inspecting commercial/residential buildings and ensuring their proper operations. Be experienced in HVAC and Building Automation Systems Optimize knowledge of inspecting buildings and ensuring proper operation Be the foundation for maintaining and enhancing the customer service experience while attending to tenant requests. Have a mentorship style of leadership to junior operators. Preventative maintenance experience. Must have a valid drivers' license with access to a reliable vehicle
