About the Role:

This position is responsible for providing leadership and drive in the profitable growth and development of the Core Pralines (Premium Chocolate) portfolio. The incumbent has a broad knowledge and skill base, with a track record of results and cross-functional leadership to manage across the team with confidence and authority. gaining a deep understanding of the target consumer, the category, and the competition, leveraging this understanding to develop consumer and brand insights, as well as the marketing programs that respond to these insights. The incumbent will lead the development of recommendations and detailed plans to profitably manage the brand, in agreement with global objectives and priorities set by Global Brand Management. Incumbent will be responsible for the coaching and management of 1 direct report. Active collaboration with Canadian cross-functional and with US and Global brand teams will be an essential part of day-to-day business management and success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leverage a deep understanding of the target consumer, the category and competition in the development of consumer and brand insights, as well as the marketing programs responding to these insights.
  • Lead the development and presentation of recommendations to profitably manage the brand in Canada, in agreement with global objectives and priorities.
  • Lead the briefing and execution of annual Media and Promotional plans for the core business, managing the advertising agency and driving innovative thinking
  • Coach and manage 1 direct report
  • Collaborate and align with Canadian cross-functional, US brand and Global brand teams to develop and execute range and merchandising optimization across a 3-year horizon
  • Be the voice of the Canadian core business with senior leadership in Canada and globally
  • Together with Supply Chain and Trade Marketing, manage production planning and transportation timelines to ensure on-time delivery to clients
This role is located at 100 Sheppard Avenue East, North York, ON M2N 6N5.

Main Responsibilities:

Brand Planning, VMS and Equity Development
  • Define and develop objectives, goals, strategies, and measurements for the brand in order to meet/exceed volume, and profit targets
  • Facilitate winning share vs. category and competition
  • Achieve ambitious KPIs driving long-term growth, including penetration, awareness, consideration, preference, and loyalty
Line Manager's Excellence
  • Management, coaching and development of direct report, including the setting of objectives, comprehensive workplan, and development plan
Budget
  • Allocate and manage marketing spending; develop P&Ls in order to manage profitability and optimize investment
Promotion/Merchandising
  • Advance the development of integrated marketing campaigns including strategic promotions with supporting in store merchandising materials
Communication/Public Relations
  • Initiate and develop a consumer and trade communication and public relations plan in order to deepen acceptance of the brand's core proposition
Sales Forecast
  • Contribute to sales forecasting in order to meet consumer demand while managing freshness, a key priority for the company
Brand Planning
  • Participate in the definition/development of objectives, goals, strategies and KPIs for the brand in order exceed volume and profit targets.
P&L
  • Delivery of Topline (NS) and Bottom Line (MC) objectives
Who we are looking for:
  • BA or Masters in Business and/or Marketing
  • 5+ years experience in CPG Brand Marketing
  • Strong analytical skills and fact-based decision making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify and create concise, compelling narratives in Powerpoint
  • Experience in translating data into insights and actions
  • Ability to prioritize multiple project and conflicting demands to deliver results
  • Adept at Strategic Influencing, delivering without formal authority
  • Strong knowledge of cross-functional interdependencies; able to influence the internal network to drive results
  • Passion, energy, detail-orientation and a drive to work with world-class brands
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word; SAP knowledge a plus)
  • Experience with Budget and P&L management
