The Opportunity

We are seeking a

Senior Bookkeeper

to join our finance department and support the daily accounting operations of a multi-entity, high-transaction business. You will assist in maintaining precise general ledger records, preparing reconciliations, managing payroll entries, and supporting month-end close processes. This role is ideal for a seasoned bookkeeping professional with retail or inventory-based experience looking for a stable, fast-paced environment with room to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for multiple business entities Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on schedule Assist with preparing monthly financial reports and supporting documentation Monitor and manage inventory adjustments and journal entries Prepare HST filings and support compliance with CRA requirements Assist in budgeting, expense tracking, and variance analysis Support payroll processing and year-end reconciliations Coordinate with external accountants during audits and year-end close Work collaboratively with operations and procurement teams to ensure financial data accuracy

Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably in retail, distribution, or manufacturing Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a strong asset) Advanced Excel skills and comfort with reporting tools Experience in high-volume transactional environments Excellent attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice-to-Have

Experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting or clerical staff Bookkeeping certification or completion of a recognized accounting program

Do not have hands-on bookkeeping experience in a multi-entity or inventory-based business Cannot commute to or relocate to Kanata for an on-site position Are unfamiliar with reconciling high volumes of transactions or working with ERP systems
