We specialize in fisheries, wildlife, aquatic and terrestrial resources, environmental management, archaeology and cultural resources, land use planning, ground penetrating radar, and forestry.For more information about us, including our projects, please visit .About the OpportunityEcofor is currently seeking Senior Biologists (Fisheries/Wildlife) to join our team. Our preference is for candidates to be based out of Fort St James, Fort St John, and Prince George, BC. However, we will consider candidates that reside outside of these areas.This is a full-time hourly position; the wage range is from $44.00 - $56.00 depending on experience.Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and leading discipline-specific field programs across northern British Columbia, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and quality of deliverables.
  • Liaising with regulators and clients to provide quality work that engages Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key clients, identifying new opportunities for support and growth.
  • Supporting the Ecofor team\'s workload and resource management.
  • Contributing to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals; and assisting in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects such as transportation, renewable energy, mining, oil, and gas, etc.
  • Supporting projects from the proposal stage to completion reporting and could include field coordination and project management.
  • Opportunities for field supervision and oversight, travelling and working in remote locations.
  • Technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within Ecofor\'s corporate culture.
More About YouTo qualify, you will need a minimum of a B.Sc. in Biology or related discipline with 10 years\' experience, and RPBio, PBiol, and/or P.Ag. designation or eligibility.Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered:
  • Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of discipline-specific field activities (i.e., wildlife habitat assessments, bird surveys, wildlife inventories, species at risk assessments, fish/amphibian surveys and salvages, and/or fish habitat assessment).
  • Specialization in fisheries or wildlife biology would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the provincial and federal environmental assessment regulatory environment and experience obtaining regulatory approvals.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management skills and physically fit.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, desire to grow business, and work closely (both in a field lead and support role) with other environmental professionals, environmental discipline leads, and First Nations.
