The bigger picture

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a highly motivated individual to come on board as a Senior Audit Analyst. You will work with the audit team conducting assurance and advisory engagements in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards; your objective, independent views will play an essential role in supporting Conexus, Cornerstone, and Innovation Credit Unions. This position can be located in any of the three Credit Unions; however, travel throughout the geographical area will be required.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll be spending your time

  • Leading and conducting compliance- and risk-based audits, and advisory engagements, with respect to all areas of credit union operations in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards.
  • Creating, providing and communicating reports on audit results to the appropriate audit management.
  • Leading the audit process (e.g. scoping meeting, closing/discharging audit, reporting overall results and recommendations to leaders, and completing follow-up on \xe2\x80\x9cManagement Action Plans\xe2\x80\x9d).
  • Completing and signing-off on detailed review of audit support work.
  • Overseeing/reviewing Audit Analyst work and conducting informal coaching as needed.
  • Ensuring adherence to scope and timelines for assigned audits and projects.
  • Leveraging data and working with a data analyst throughout the audit process to create efficiencies, improve coverage, and identify high-severity risks.
  • Supporting delivery of world class member service, as a trusted internal partner.
  • Identifying and advising on risks and opportunities, within the credit unions\xe2\x80\x99 risk appetite.
  • Actively and continually seek and identify opportunities for improvement of processes and increased efficiencies; recommend and share ideas for improvements.
  • Leveraging technology and partners to provide and enhance the world class member experience.

The experience you bring
  • Minimum 3 years related audit experience.
  • Advanced experience in the following areas would be considered an asset: accounting, credit, finance, information technology, treasury.
  • 5 years financial services experience.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft suite, analytics and research.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation would be considered an asset.
