Job Description



The Senior Associate is a key reviewer and processor of complicated work who participates in day to day service and maintenance of client portfolios. They will manage and maintain their client portfolios, process life cycle events, review and reply to the client and other external parties. A client will have direct interaction with the Senior Associate, sometimes over complex matters, meaning strong commercial acumen and communication skills is a requirement. It is expected that the Senior Associate will understand their client’s portfolios to the extent they can have substantive conversations with stakeholders.
As part of their ongoing duties, the Senior Associate will support other members of the team as a source of information and to render training where needed. The role is the first escalation point for Associates or clients encountering operational hurdles and it is expected the Senior Associate will navigate the majority of these escalations for successful resolutions.
The Senior Associate will act as a reviewer and control on operations matters on a daily basis. They are responsible for credit agreement and new deal setup review, escalation and review of complex matters from Associates, and to participate in client contact to resolve breaks as needed. This role creates stability and contributes to a superior control environment within operations. Strong attention to detail and time management skills are critical for Senior Associates for these reasons.

Qualifications

  • University or College business degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 2 years operations or accounting experience with Syndicated or Private debt is required
  • Fund accounting experience is an asset, but not required

Additional Information
  • Working understanding of Syndicated or Private loans and their underlying principles
  • Working knowledge of interest and time value of money principles
  • Working understanding of accounting principles
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working level of competency with technology
