Senior Assistant Editor / Junior Editor

with strong creative, technical, and organizational skills to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to high-profile commercial campaigns.

About the Role

In this role, you will support senior editors on major commercial projects while also taking on independent editorial assignments. You'll manage complex workflows, participate in client-attended sessions, and ensure the highest standards of creative and technical execution.

This position requires full-time, in-office presence at our downtown Toronto studio.

This is not a hybrid or remote role.

Key Responsibilities

Support senior editors through all stages of offline editorial Manage scheduling, client communications, and edit-suite operations Prep and organize dailies, graphics, audio, and turnovers Break down footage, create string-outs, assemble edits, and prep for finishing Handle in-suite client services and maintain a polished professional environment Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain smooth editorial workflows Take on independent editing assignments when required Build and maintain strong client relationships Collaborate with directors, producers, and agency creatives in attended sessions Maintain strong media management, archiving, and organizational practices

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years

professional editing & assistant editing experience in commercial/advertising

2+ years

working in the Toronto advertising market Proven ability to independently edit commercial work that has publicly aired Experience running in-person edit sessions with directors, producers, creatives, and clients High proficiency in: Avid Media Composer Adobe Premiere Pro Photoshop & Illustrator Davinci Resolve After Effects P5 archiving Dropbox, Wiredrive, Frame.io

2+ years

professional experience in: Colour grading Graphic animation Transcoding dailies Sound mixing Experience with AI generation tools and working knowledge of Unreal Engine Strong proficiency in all aspects of assistant editing, including: Scheduling Client management & client services Full prep for senior editors Breaking down footage Assembling edits Preparing for finishing & turnovers
