WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you are responsible for translating design intent into a complete set of construction documents that coordinate with engineering and Building Code requirements. You will develop wall sections and details, which meet the design intent of the Project Architect/Design Manager (PA/DM) and are rooted in best practices of Building Envelope Science. You will advise on the development of project specifications as they relate to building envelope assemblies, materials and details.


  • Assist the team to successfully develop and deliver on all project requirements (drawings, reports, specifications, etc.) through all project phases from schematic design to closeout
  • As a key part of the “Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)” team, support the PA/DM in the coordination of project documents from all disciplines
  • Use graphic/visualization abilities to prepare plans, sections, elevations and views of projects for presentations to clients, authorities and other key external stakeholders
  • Support the team in the maintenance of project schedule and meeting project objectives and milestones
  • Focus on the quality of deliverables by monitoring compliance with the Omicron Quality Assurance and Quality Control Protocols as defined in the Omicron Process Directory
  • Attend coordination meetings when directed by the PA/DM and respond to request for information
  • Attend project and/or site meetings; record the meeting and take minutes
  • Participate in the Construction Contract Administration phase to coordinate and review submittals and Request for Information

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a prime (Architectural) consulting environment
  • Must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the in province of British Columbia
  • Diploma and/or Degree in Architectural Building Technology from a recognized technological institute
  • Experience working on project teams and contributing to all phases of project development
  • Expertise in REVIT and AutoCAD, as well as MS Office suite
  • Thorough understanding of BC building code and bylaw requirements to assist with the preparation of documents to meet municipal requirements
  • Knowledgeable of different building systems and technologies, including Building Envelope Science
  • Establishes a specialization in Building Envelope, Code QA, Sustainability, Revit, Project Type or other
  • Finished products and projects demonstrate a high level of quality assurance and quality control
