Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Architectural Technician to join our dynamic design and construction team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in architectural drafting, project management, and construction processes, with proficiency in a variety of software tools. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both residential and commercial projects, utilizing advanced technical skills to produce precise schematics and blueprints. The Senior Architectural Technician will play a key role in ensuring project accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, while demonstrating strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities



Develop detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and blueprints for residential and commercial construction projects using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, and other CAD software. Prepare and review technical documentation including specifications, construction details, and schematics to ensure clarity and accuracy. Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings. Manage multiple projects simultaneously by organizing schedules, deadlines, and deliverables using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite. Conduct blueprint reading and analysis to verify compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client requirements. Assist in project management tasks such as resource planning, timeline tracking, and quality control. Utilize Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for presentation materials and visualizations. Support civil engineering aspects using Civil 3D for site planning and infrastructure layouts. Ensure all drawings meet industry standards while maintaining high levels of accuracy through rigorous review processes. Provide leadership in drafting team coordination, mentoring junior staff as needed, and fostering effective communication across departments. Maintain organized digital files of all project documentation for easy access and version control.

Qualifications



Proven experience as an Architectural Technician or similar role within residential or commercial construction environments. Extensive proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, Adobe Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project & Outlook. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics development, building codes, safety regulations, and construction processes. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly desirable to facilitate diverse client interactions. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex design data accurately. Effective project management skills with a focus on time management and organizational efficiency. Strong communication skills for presenting ideas clearly to team members and clients alike. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively. Technical qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Architecture Technology or related field are preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
