Job Overview

I am an independent Small Buildings Residential BCIN Designer working primarily from home and looking for a part-time Architectural Technician to assist with design drafting and site measuring. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, flexible role within a small, supportive working environment.

The role will be a hybrid position, combining remote drafting work with occasional on-site measuring and in-person collaboration as needed.

I am located in Barrie, however, most projects are located in Uxbridge and the surrounding area, where the majority of site measurements will take place.

Responsibilities

Develop accurate architectural design drawings using Revit for new homes, additions, renovations etc. Assist with on site measurements of existing houses. Utilize 3D modeling and visualization softwares. Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations. Maintain organized project files and documentation.

Qualifications

Architectural Technician Diploma. Must be proficient in Revit. Strong understanding of residential construction processes. Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code. Strong technical drawing and detailing skills. Effective communication skills for a hybrid work environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
