The Opportunity:

Architecture49Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Architectural Designer / Project Manager.

A day in the life:

  • Produce architectural construction drawings for all buildings and facilities. Using Revit, AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Lead and assist junior and intermediate architectural designers, review their work and identify deficiencies.
  • Coordinate design with all other building disciplines, communicate with the required team members to complete the design. Using BIM360, ProjectWise, ACC, SharePoint or similar software.
  • Research materials, products and technologies required for the design and incorporate into the details, specification and other documents.
  • Perform internal reviews of the models and drawings to ensure compliance with CAD/ BIM standards.
  • Provide input to reports and documents as applicable.
  • Review and check work following quality procedures, marking up documents and performing changes throughout the design process until completion. Using Bluebeam, PDFXpress, SharePoint or similar software.

What you\'ll bring to A49...
  • Hold an architectural studies degree, technologist diploma, technician diploma, interior design diploma or other applicable higher education qualifications.
  • 6+ years experience delivering BIM projects using authoring tools such as Revit, C3D, OpenBuildings Designer and CDE platforms such as ProjectWise, BIM360 or ACC.
  • Experience working with north American design requirements, regulations, climatic conditions, etc.
  • Experience delivering work in multi-disciplinary environment. Inter-disciplinary coordination is expected at all stages of the design.
  • Experience producing architectural design deliverables for concept, schematic, detail and construction document stages of the project.
  • Experience delivering construction drawing sets for industrial, transit or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with building codes and regulations applicable to infrastructure work: OBC 3.13, OBC, NFPA 130, NFPA 101, OHSA, CSA B61, CSA S478, etc.
