The Work


Equitable\xe2\x80\x99 s digital platform is our strategic enabler to offer innovative solutions that challenge the status quo in banking. As a Senior Agular Engineer, we are looking for someone who has the technical ability to implement user interfaces using JavaScript and the Angular framework. You will need to know the best practices and modern ways of creating interfaces and ensure the interface is able to interact with backend APIs. You will also need to have great communication and collaboration skills as you will need to interact with fellow frontend and backend developers regularly to ensure components can be integrated together.

The core parts of your role would be to:

• Design and develop user interfaces using Angular best practices and latest front-end technologies
• Write JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
• Make complex technical and design decisions for Angular projects
• Develop application codes and unit tests in Angular, Java Technologies, and Rest Web Services.
• Integrate with Restful APIs
• Ensure high performance of applications and provide support
• Mentoring other angular developers and providing technical support.
• Perform code review

Let\xe2\x80\x99s Talk About You

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred
• 7+ years\xe2\x80\x99 directly related experience in IT with a minimum of 5 years in angular development
• Good knowledge of banking domain (retail digital products)
• Top Javascript coding proficiency
• Proficient in CSS, HTML, and writing cross-browser compatible code
• Knowledge of JavaScript MV-VM/MVC frameworks including Angular and node.js
• Experience with Services Oriented Architecture and RESTful Architecture, web services
• Familiar with Atlassian tools, including JIRA workflow
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience working in a highly collaborative and customer-centric environment
• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-grade solutions
• Knowledge of Micro Front end architecture preferred
• Knowledge of security frameworks, standards and practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction
• Leadership skills to indirectly manage work with cross-functional teams

Job Complexities / Thinking Challenges:

• Partnering with different stakeholders including developers, technology administrators, business analyst, project managers, product owners and others at different levels in the organization to understand, develop and deliver.
• Deals on a daily basis with peers and staff, both internally and externally, with business and professional skills in Information Technology.
• A requirement to be able to think abstractly and pivot the work in a technically complex environment.
• Working as each of an individual contributor and a coordinator between external party for angular development in a team environment.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank\xe2\x80\x99s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
