What will you do?
Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role.
Prepare Canadian tax compliance including partnership, corporate and trust returns, foreign affiliate reporting and supporting working papers
Assist in managing the global tax compliance calendars, ensuring deadlines are timely met, reducing risk of non-compliance
Prepare tax provisions under IFRS standards
Calculate Canadian and U.S. instalments and estimated payments and work with treasury department to ensure timely payments
Liaise with tax authorities and prepare responses to audit queries
Assist with preparation of tax projections and budgets
Support business units, property accountants, corporate finance team, commodity tax group, in all tax-related matters
Work on special projects, acquisitions, and other re-organizations as they come
What type of experience and skills do you have?
These are some of the things we'd like you to bring to the table:
Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate tax environment or public accounting firm
CPA designation, and completed Master of Taxation degree or enrolled in the CICA in-depth tax course
Well-versed with tax provision processes and understanding of IFRS
Good understanding of Canadian foreign affiliate rules and reporting requirements
Experience preparing Canadian partnership, trust, and corporate tax returns
Proficient in Excel and TaxPrep
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
