Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Analyst: Marketing Intelligence and Strategy based at our North York location reporting into the Leader of Marketing Intelligence and Strategy. Marketing Intelligence and Strategy puts the consumer at the heart of the business, enabling the business team to make strong decisions and helping build strategies that enable sustainable growth. Our superpower is to simplify the complex by turning data and insight into actionable intelligence that is informed, unbiased, and future forward. This position is accountable for leading advanced analyses and connecting those back to the business to drive decisions and plans that will result in greater consumer and shopper engagement. Senior Analysts lead work in 3 key areas: 1) Building capability for Marketing through Category, Brand and Marketplace data integration and advanced analytics; 2) Building tools and systems that deliver business intelligence to Marketing, Sales and Executive Leaders and 3) Partnering with Marketing to drive strategies and actions based on what\xe2\x80\x99s happening on the business and in the marketplace. Senior Analysts integrate and connect the dots across a wide variety of data sources, including Customer Transactional and Loyalty Card Data, Nielsen, Numerator, Ipsos, Shopper Intelligence, Market Mix Models (MMMs), Internal data, and other quantitative sources.
A day in the life of a Senior Analyst: Marketing Intelligence and Strategy:

You will proactively work with Marketing to identify the biggest issues and questions on the business. You will formulate strategies for tackling those advanced analytics projects and develop a POV on what is going on and what the team could do to resolve it. You will also work with the Marketers to elevate their business acumen abilities to think about and use data sources, while being the expert on maintaining those sources and ensuring data integrity.
You will also:
  • Contribute to the development of annual business and customer plans
  • Lead KPI measurement and \xe2\x80\x9chow to win\xe2\x80\x9d actions (category, brand, innovation score-carding)
  • Lead the development and maintenance of fact-based tools and reports from initial concept to testing, launch and final implementation
  • Use advanced analytical and technical expertise to enable reports and tools addressing key business issues for ongoing and ad hoc requirements.
  • Synthesize multiple data sources in Tools and Analytic Initiatives. Leverage full suite of Nielsen, Numerator, POS, Loyalty, internal shipment data, qualitative/quantitative research with a focus on driving growth. Automation of causal, tracking reports (exception reporting, analytical reporting), integrated KPI scorecards (internal, external data)
  • Be the "Go-to" Expert in Nielsen, Numerator, POS/Loyalty Data, and other data sets for Marketing Teams. Leverage these tools in your own advanced analyses and build team capability in using them for improved decision making.
  • Track performance of key Innovation launches through delivering tracking tools, compelling Insight decks, competitive cross-category benchmarks and presenting regular updates to relevant teams.
  • Support Partnerships with all 3rd Party Syndicated Data Engagements. Leverage Partners to understand best-in-class use of Nielsen, Numerator, POS/Loyalty Data, Shopper Intelligence, etc. Manage day-to-day relationships with Vendor Partners \xe2\x80\x93 bi-weekly meetings, regular updates

You leverage your story-telling skills to communicate compelling insights and build great relationships with the Marketers and other Divisional members. You have the courage to dig into issues and lead the thinking to communicate what the data is showing and what we need to do to resolve the problem. You will also have:
  • Education: Completion of a University Degree in business or marketing focus and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years Analytics experience (multi-category CPG experience preferred)
  • Experience in Nielsen, Numerator and POS/Loyalty Data
  • Demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights out of big data
  • Ability to disseminate and synthesize diverse and vast data while communicating simply to non-analytic audience
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to develop optimized tools/solutions in a complex environment and across multiple stakeholders
