Reporting to the Superintendent, Operating Excellence and Controller, the Senior Analyst, Cost is responsible for supporting operational decision-making, optimizing the use of financial systems, coordinating transaction processing, and financial reporting activities. Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Provide financial data and perform cost analyses to find opportunities, efficiencies, and waste which may include trend and variance analysis
Explain and mentor department heads on their financial performance versus plans
Coordinate month-end activities and prepare budgets and forecasts
Review and validate financial reports and respond to financial queries
Assist in the development of the departments Standard Policies and Procedures
Qualifications:
CFA, CPA, or Accounting designation is required
Minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in operational accounting or finance, preferably within a mining or manufacturing environment
Analysis and reporting experience
Financial accounting experience and International Financial Reporting Standards knowledge or experience is an asset
Excellent digital literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite\xc2\xae: Outlook, Word, and Excel. ERP systems experience, especially Microsoft AX, is an asset
Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and querying large databases and data warehouses would be an asset
