The role of

Senior Analyst, Business Enablement & Controls

is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires an individual with an enterprise-mindset who can work collaboratively across all levels of the Amex Canada organization. As a core member of the International Card Services (ICS) Business Enablement & Controls team, the successful candidate will be focused on strengthening & elevating our controls to reduce business risk by working directly with a broad set of enterprise stakeholders across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line functions.



The Senior Analyst, Business Enablement & Controls will play a key role in helping achieve the following objectives:


Elevate business controls and reduce operational risk. Enhance coordination and management across all lines of business as well as regulatory programs. Act as a control centre of excellence & consultation function for ICS colleagues. Support the execution of control requirements across ongoing initiatives, remediations, and action plans. The Senior Analyst, Business Enablement & Controls will help to achieve the above objectives across key areas, including (but not limited to): AML/KYC, Business Exams & Testing, TLM, and Offer, Benefit, & Rewards.



The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:



1. Establishing Enhanced First Line Controls.



Support local end-to-end governance and controls. Partner with Enterprise Teams to implement new control requirements. Create comprehensive theme analysis and centralize ownership of cross-functional action plans. Execute first line testing programs.

2. Support ICS Control Programs, Exams & Testing.



Support ICS colleagues across control management priorities by coordinating with Compliance, Risk, Control Management, and Internal Audit requirements. Collect and synthesize information for ICS wide testing and exams with internal and external stakeholders.

3.

Build Subject Matter Expertise & Execution Excellence.



Facilitate education and distribution of subject matter expertise (governance, technical) across ICS to support colleagues with existing and new risk and control requirements. Contribute to the centre of execution excellence by partnering with ICS and Enterprise Control functions on new workstreams and action plans.

Qualifications



University degree and minimum 1-2 years of work experience in project management, product or marketing. Self-starter who can effectively multi-task, prioritize and manage projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and influence across teams. Naturally curious and comfortable working in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments. Proven ability to analyze data, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Highly proficient in MS Office suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Visio). PMP Certification an asset.
