Reporting to the Director, Research Operations, provides advice and professional support to researchers in the development of research contract and agreements and assists in the process in order to improve the success rate for research contracts and to strengthen research activities. Evaluates risks associated to the management of research contract and liaises with various internal and external partners to ensure the compliance with conditions and sound project and financial management.We work in a hybrid environment and are on-site three days a week. The posting will remain open until filled.In this role you will:

  • Develop, negotiate, and review frequently complex, multi-party research contracts with diverse sponsors. Analyze and interpret terms and conditions of research contracts and resolve multifaceted, intricate issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide expert advice and professional support to researchers and internal research-related stakeholders in the development of contract research.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with funding agencies, sponsors and partners on complex agreements and contracts.
  • Assess and mitigate risk exposure in making recommendations to management concerning the execution of contracts to ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake research and provide advice to management on mechanisms to improve the success of contract research and strengthen research activities.
What you will bring:
  • Knowledge and experience in theories and practices of business management normally acquired through a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of research support opportunities and academia.
  • Knowledge of research strategies and methodologies.
  • Experience developing and managing research agreements and activities.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, maintain and build relationships and partnerships within the University and externally.
  • Experience in analysis and problem-solving.
  • Excellent bilingual writing skills.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience developing and delivering workshops.
  • Experience using computer systems and applications such as Windows, word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, the internet and email.
  • Bilingualism \xe2\x80\x93 English and French (spoken and written).
