About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Finance to be part of a high performing team. You will lead initiatives to add value to Diavik operations by directing the site cost management approach, evaluating projects, forecasting results and ensuring accurate reporting of financials. Collaborating with the Diavik leadership team, you will challenge, advise and provide business insights to optimize business performance. You will impart financial knowledge to operational and functional leaders and drive execution of initiatives that align to Diavik\xe2\x80\x99s strategic priorities.

Working on a Monday to Friday schedule in Yellowknife, and periodically at the Lac de Gras mine site, you will report to the Principal Advisor, Finance. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the cost management program with operational and functional teams.
  • Financial planning, forecasting, analyzing, and communicating site performance.
  • Business analysis, including training of stakeholders on how to build and optimize a business case.
  • Provide expertise to enhance financial comprehension and drive decision making aligned to Diavik\xe2\x80\x99s strategic priorities.
  • Provide insightful financial coaching to all levels & vocations within the organization.
  • Identifying financial opportunities and driving action that results in outcomes that enhance the performance of the business.
  • Contribute to and oversee some aspects of the month end reporting process.
What you will bring
  • Bachelor and/or professional qualification in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, Engineering.)
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Attention to detail, with ability to link to Diavik\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives.
  • Team orientated approach to delivery of strategic priorities.
  • Ability to present & communicate complex strategical financial information to audiences with differing levels of financial acumen.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience in the use of SAP and HFM.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence programs/techniques (PowerBI, ThinkCell).
