The Senior Advisor will champion the use of integrated communication strategies, project management and engagement. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing communication strategies and tactics to meet the needs of various stakeholders in alignment with organizational priorities. Providing communications leadership, advice, and support to senior leaders on communication issues and opportunities and acting as a subject matter expert on key projects and initiatives. Supporting issues management, including writing key messages and briefing notes, and responding to media calls. Providing scheduled or emergent weekend and after-hours communications support for issues management and media relations. Writing, editing, and reviewing various internal and external communications. Contributing to storytelling channels by creating compelling news and human-interest stories. Participating in committees by providing expert advice from a communication perspective. Pursuing professional development to ensure the currency of skills and to grow as a communications professional. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, arts or social sciences required. Combination of work experience and education may be considered. A minimum of five years of experience planning, implementing and evaluating communications strategies and supporting senior leaders or managing significant projects and initiatives required. Experience leading communications for complex health care or public sector organizations with multiple stakeholders preferred.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects that impact a broad range of cross-functional teams, from identifying business needs through to implementation and delivery. Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage timelines and tasks, including handling competitive and conflicting priorities and time pressures. Ability to think strategically, with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 both written and verbal. Expertise in internal communications and proficiency in working with print and electronic communications vehicles. Ability to assess issues and their strategic impact both internally and externally. Experience with stakeholder and/or community engagement is an asset.
