The actuarial associate, Innovation & Inforce Management supports this growing business and reports to the Director, Innovation & Strategic Initiatives, Defined Benefit Solutions. What will you do? The Senior Actuarial Associate, Innovation & Inforce Management, DB Solutions will have the following accountabilities: Innovation & Solution development

• Explore and contribute to innovative solutions supporting the DBS growth strategy by working closely with internal partners
• Support investigations into how to differentiate DBS\xe2\x80\x99 product offering from that of its competitors
• Collaborate on the execution of key Innovation Lab feasibility studies by conducting research, drafting studies and providing recommendations on next steps
• Support the implementation of promising feasibility studies by partnering with other DBS teams

Inforce management

• Partner with the Structuring, ALM, Valuation, Risk, IT and Operations teams to identify and execute on opportunities to better manage DBS\xe2\x80\x99 inforce group annuities from a financial and operational perspective
• Execute on initiatives to optimize and enhance member experience
• Execute on initiatives that extract value from DBS\xe2\x80\x99 data and use technology to better support strategic initiatives
• Present to DBS Inforce Lab to report progress on Inforce initiatives

What do you need to succeed?

• Bilingualism (French-English) required in Quebec: management of English-speaking employees outside Quebec
• Strong technical, analytical and problem solving
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity thinking about the \xe2\x80\x9cbigger picture\xe2\x80\x9d and a willingness to challenge the status quo
• Highly motivated individual who can work independently and perform research in unfamiliar areas
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical concepts in both a written and verbal manner to non-actuaries
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships
• Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects at a time
• Achieved or working towards an actuarial designation
• Previous knowledge of pension-related topics is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
