POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to lead the development and implementation of projects in our dynamic Research Centre. The health services research projects within our priority research fields require strong project management and scientific research skills, using both qualitative and quantitative data. The Senior Research Associate will also assist with internal and external stakeholder relationship management and mentorship of research staff.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development of SE Research Centre research funding applications, research protocols and ethics review applications
  • Manage research projects
  • Develop search strategies, search, sort, screen and critically appraise academic and grey literature from relevant health and social research databases and sources
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative health services research data with minimal support
  • Develop knowledge translation materials and tools
  • Contribute to project ideas within all SE Research Centre priority research fields
  • Mentor research staff
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
  • PhD in a science or health care related discipline from a recognized university and a minimum of two years of experience working in health services research
Technical Competencies & Skills
  • Experience in coordinating, managing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data in health services research projects
  • An understanding of the principal health sectors in Canada including hospital, home & community care
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to contribute to a team under complex research and organizational conditions, and in an environment of multiple competing priorities
  • Diplomacy and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects (e.g., workplan, budgets)
  • Excellent problem solving, creative thinking and decision-making capacity
Please note that this role is a 12 month contract with the flexibility to work hybrid ( Downtown or from Markham)
