Daily accounting, payroll, monthly reconciliation of accounts for four RFN businesses. Complete working paper preparation and monthly internal financial statement preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
2 Year College Diploma. Business Accounting or Bookkeeping.
Skills and Abilities:
General computer skills.
Computerized accounting software and spreadsheets.
Able to handle day to day accounting.
Working knowledge of a variety of point-of-sale systems.
Valid Class G Driver's Licence required.
Experience:
Experience in an accounting department- 1 year minimum.
Experience with accounting software.
Other:
A Vulnerable Sector Screening is required for this position.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify accuracy and completeness of A/P disbursements for First Nation businesses.
Match invoices with requisitions and prepare for payment.
Input entry- daily journal entries for RFN Businesses.
File paid invoices- responsible for maintaining all filing systems day to day.
Record day-to-day accounting transactions including A/P and A/R.
Prepare government remittances and submit monthly/annually - WSIB, HST, Payroll remittance, Pension.
Check data integrity at regular intervals.
Input and prepare sales entries and cash receipts entries.
Prepare and mail of monthly receivable statements for First Nation businesses.
Prepare year end inventory and year end working papers for First Nation businesses.
Verifying of timesheets/payroll hours and processing payroll for all businesses as directed.
Bi-weekly payroll and T4's annually.
Manage petty cash, bank deposits.
Getting cheques signed by appropriate signors.
Mail outs of payables for all businesses.
Making payable payments at bank when necessary.
Working with RFN Business Managers and Supervisors.
Follow up with suppliers for invoices, credit notes, etc.
General office duties which include faxing, photocopying, memos, letters, maintain and order supplies, maintain files for Band businesses.
MasterCard, Visa retrievals as required and monthly Visa Statement Reconciliation.
Bank requisitions monthly.
All businesses - regular, lotto, U.S, bank deposits and bank statements and business specific remittances (i.e.. Gas Vouchers).
Prepare financial statements. Produce RFN Business Financial statements for inclusion in monthly internal consolidated statements.
Month end inventory as required.
Prepare and submit government required reporting (ie Statistics Canada).
Prepare and review amortization schedules for RFN Business assets.
Do variance analysis.
Group Benefit reconciliation for RFN Businesses monthly.
