We are currently accepting resumes for a Senior Accounting Assistant to join the Finance Team. This is a full-time, temporary 12-month contract position in our Cambridge Member Centre.

Job Summary:



CLAC is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate to join the Finance Team for the Training, Apprenticeship, Jobs - West as a Senior Accounting Assistant. This position involves completing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions within an established structure and in accordance with applicable accounting and industry standards. This individual is responsible for the accurate data entry and processing of financial data in the accounting program, and related functions.

Key Responsibilities:



This position will be responsible for various duties including, but not limited to:

Data entry of accounts payable and accounts receivable details in the accounting program (Business Central) for health & safety, scaffolding, welding, and employee expense reports Analysis of UnionWare data ensuring pricing is correct and the registrant exports are recorded Maintenance and filing of vendor records and EFT as well as customer records Prepares cheques and EFT for payment following internal policies and procedures Analyze, reconcile, and resolve accounting transactional issues with vendors, employees, customers, and accounting program Maintains vendor creation in Union software as well as pricing setup in accounting software Reconciles the corporate credit card Maintenance of inventory items including creation and adjustments Assists the Accounting Manager with other accounting, ad-hoc, analysis, reports and projects as required and provides support to the Data and Transaction Specialist and Booking Specialists

Qualifications:



A college diploma or certification in Accounting or other Finance/Business related field or working towards it.

Skills and Experience:



A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience Understanding of accounting principles and practices Organizational skills and an advanced level of attention to detail Excellent time management skills including ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines Great interpersonal skills and ability to work in both an independent environment and within the CLAC team Professionalism, tact and reasoning capabilities, ensuring confidentiality of the data that is received Proficiency in Microsoft Office and prior experience with an accounting software, preferable Business Central Effective written and oral communication skills Critical thinker with ability to assist in resolving problems and discrepancies

Reporting and Accountability:



This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager
