Job Description

OUR Longstanding & well-established client is looking for their next Senior Accountant/Junior Controller to assist the Finance Director in overseeing all the day to day accounting operations and financial activities for the company ensuring precision & compliance with regulations. Your strength will be the ability to analyze financial statements, create financial models, and interpret data to provide insights to the management. You will also assist in managing the Finance Department team of 5-7 employees.

Responsibilities

• Help grow and implement financial policies, controls and procedures.

• Keep track of cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.

• Prepare and examine financial statements in accordance to ASPE

• Creating of Audit reports, budgets, and Forecasts

• Conduct financial analysis to recognize trends, risks, and opportunities for advancement.

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial observations and support decision-making.

• Coordinate audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.

• Organize the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws. (HST, BC PST, and QST)

• Organize the preparation of reports related to WSIB

• Staying well informed and up to date on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices. (ASPE Specific)

• Oversee the Payroll process and functions

Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Business or a related accounting field. (CPA is preferred/asset).

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

• Proficient in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Sage Business Vision).

• Solid understanding of tax laws and regulations. / Solid Understanding of Payroll (ADP Workforce Now)

• Experience with owner operated businesses(asset)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
