The Role
As a
Senior Accountant
at Manning Elliott LLP, you will play a pivotal role in understanding client businesses and navigating their accounting and tax challenges. Collaborating closely with the engagement manager, you will proactively anticipate issues and assess alternatives, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive solutions tailored to their needs. In addition to managing compilation and review engagements, you will also take the lead in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering their professional development.
What You'll Do
Understand client businesses to identify accounting and tax issues, providing informed recommendations to address them.
Produce concise working papers, financial compilations, and CRA returns for review while ensuring accuracy in journal entries.
Utilize technical knowledge to formulate recommendations for clients and the firm, while proactively anticipating and addressing potential issues.
Mentor and train junior team members, offering constructive feedback to enhance their performance in future engagements.
Plan and execute compilation and review engagements, assisting clients in preparing financial statements in compliance with ASPE standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to inquiries promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Recognize opportunities for tax planning and advisory services within existing client accounts.
Coordinate with team members on advanced accounting projects, fostering teamwork across departments.
Perform account reconciliations and analyses to support financial accuracy and decision-making.
Engage with clients and internal teams to ensure expectations are met in a timely manner while promoting excellent service.
What You Bring
Educational Background:
Completion of, or currently pursuing, a CPA designation
Experience:
2 to 4 years' public accounting experience working with privately owned businesses
Skills:
Fundamental financial accounting (ASPE) and corporate and personal tax knowledge, including the ability to prepare corporate and personal tax returns. Strong Mandarin and English communication skills - written and verbal.
Team Player:
Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative environment.
