We are looking for a motivated Intermediate Accountant to join the growing team led by an experienced Partner. This role is ideal for someone who has at least one year of experience in a public practice firm, is passionate about developing their tax and business advisory skillset, and is excited to work with a variety of clients and industries.
As part of a fast-paced practice with significant growth ahead, you will bridge the gap between junior preparers and managers, taking on responsibilities that build both technical and client service skills. You will have the opportunity to work with clients directly, write memos, sharpen your business writing and technical skills, and learn alongside a collaborative team that values both hard work and shared success.
How you'll make a difference
Prepare tax returns, working papers, and a variety of accounting assignments to help clients manage both their personal and professional finances.
Lead and manage a variety of financial tasks including bookkeeping, compiling, reviewing, and auditing financial statements for private clients.
Handle personal T1 and corporate T2 tax returns, T4 and T5 slips, and T3 returns with precision and expertise.
Review and interpret Notices of Assessment (NOAs) and Notices of Reassessment (NORAs), providing clients with clear advice and support.
Oversee government filings, remittances, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, and payroll to ensure seamless financial operations for clients.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, troubleshoot discrepancies, and collaborate closely with managers or engagement partners to find solutions.
Communicate with clients and third parties to gather necessary information and deliver services that build strong, trusted relationships.
Liaise with government agencies to manage information requests, assessments, and payments efficiently.
Mentor junior team members and guide them through their development, contributing to a culture of growth and support.
Contribute to the DMCL culture through teamwork, innovation, and engagement.
Other duties as assigned.
Who you are
1-3 years of experience in public practice with exposure to tax and financial reporting
Actively enrolled in the CPA program or planning to enroll
Strong technical foundation with eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
Confident communicator, client-focused, and proactive in follow-up and delivery
Adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
