We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting, to join our growing finance team in this newly created role. This position will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting investor relations, contributing to corporate finance initiatives, and maintaining audit readiness. The ideal candidate is analytical, agile, eager to learn, and driven to make a tangible impact at a growing company.

Key Responsibilities



Financial Reporting & Month-End Close



Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Assist in the preparation of other continuous disclosure documents such as the MD&A, Annual Information Form, AGM Materials, and ESG, among others. Prepare working papers for key areas such as debt, equity, corporate accruals, among others. Conduct accounting research and draft technical memos on new or complex transactions. Act as a key liaison with external auditors during annual audits and interim procedures. Perform ad hoc financial analyses and support ongoing process improvements.

Investor Relations Support



Lead the preparation of investor communications, including updates, press releases, earnings presentations, and financial decks, in collaboration with cross-functional teams Maintain the investor relations section of the company website to ensure timely and accurate updates. Conduct peer benchmarking and industry analysis to support investor messaging, strategy alignment, and market positioning. Coordinate with marketing and communications teams on investor-facing social media content to ensure alignment with financial messaging and disclosure guidelines.

Cash Management & Expense Oversight



Monitor daily cash positions and manage company bank accounts. Support banking relationships and ensure proper controls over cash movements. Oversee employee expense reports for accuracy, proper coding, and policy compliance. Collaborate with HR and department managers on training and enforcement of expense policies.

Corporate Finance & Board Communications



Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial packages for board meetings. Partner with senior management in preparing materials for investors, lenders, and strategic partners. Ensure board-level reporting is accurate, timely, and clearly presented.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance



Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, corporate income tax, and payroll related filings (EHT, WCB, etc.) Respond to regulatory and government information requests as needed.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation (or CPA-eligible) strongly preferred. 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, ideally in a public company or Big 4 firm. Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements. Proven experience working with external auditors and preparing financial statements. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Effective communicator, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders.
