Your Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant you will be a vital member of the Advisory and Assurance Team, reporting to the Partner. The individual will act as the senior professional completing audit engagements while supervising staff in the preparation of A & A engagements and assisting in the delivery of value-added services and solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will require strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage relationships with both clients and team members.
Your Scope:
Applies KRP's audit and accounting practices and methodologies on client engagements, applying appropriate professional skepticism
Deep expertise in IFRS and public company audits
Conducts financial statement audits using the various accounting frameworks applicable in Canada (IFRS, ASPE, NPO and/or Public Sector) with some manager guidance
Prepares personal and corporate income tax returns with some manager guidance
Obtains sufficient and appropriate audit/review evidence, addressing the relevant audit/review objectives and demonstrates how it relates to the rest of the audit/review, in order to demonstrate knowledge of basic assurance skills
Documents the results of their work in accordance with the firm's requirements and where applicable, regulatory requirements/standards
Performs financial and systems analysis
Asks informed questions to further understand complex audit and accounting issues
Performs research on the application of relevant professional standards
Minimizes routine errors in engagement performance
Begins to assess the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence and conclusions reached on an engagement by reviewing the working papers of junior staff and begins to participate in the evaluation of issues raised with the manager and partner
Your Qualifications:
CPA designation, or just wrote the CFE in September 2025
Minimum 3 + years' experience in public practice with audit experience
Senioring audit engagement would be an asset
Working knowledge of CaseWare, Jazz-it and Tax Prep
Dedication and strong work ethic
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, capable of multitasking various tasks, projects, and strategic improvement initiatives
