Job Description

Horizon Recruitment Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a large publicly traded client to take on a well-rounded role for one of their main large subsidiaries. This will include both financial reporting, management reporting, and financial systems work. This will be an excellent opportunity for someone to work in a fast-paced and growing environment with lots of opportunity to learn. This will be a 14-month contract to cover a maternity leave.Responsibilities:

• Month-end/Quarter-end activities related to financial reporting and analysis
• In-depth analysis of monthly revenue and costs
• Lead approval for Accounts Receivable journal entries as well as providing guidance to AR Accounting Assistant on troubleshooting issues
• Preparation of Forecast to determine cost of service
• Lead preparer of transfer pricing calculations
• Liaise with accounting staff in all regions to create solutions to challenges
• Enhance consistency and quality of global reports and processes
• Preparation of Financial Statements and local tax filings
• Preparation of GST returns and Corporation Tax schedules
• Participate in internal and external audits (e.g. SOX testing); prepare process walk throughs, coordinate with internal audit team on findings, investigate solutions

Requirements:

• A CPA designation plus 4-5 years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting
• Experience in an environment with multiple entities/locations/etc.
• Strong analytical skills using Excel with experience in FP&A
• Strong interpersonal and exceptional communication skills
• Proven ability to think independently and solve problems
• Ability to develop and manage a dynamic business process in a fast paced environment

Remuneration:

• $90-100k
